There are organizations like the PMSG all over the country (some, twenty years old or more) supporting their bases and installations. So the idea is hardly new and we are playing catch-up. Like these older organizations, the PMSG is comprised of ordinary folks and patriotic companies; folks and companies who want to say thanks (and show gratitude in tangible ways) for our military’s service. We support our entire federal community: soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen; active duty, reserves and civilian employees; veterans and the families of all…at all levels of the chain of command. PMSG members need not belong to any other organization – for example a chamber of commerce, a civic club or a veterans group – though all of those types of organizations are involved with us and are notably supportive.
